Senior Civil Draftsperson
Purpose
To assist Civil Engineers in the application of principles,
methods & techniques of Civil Engineering matters as required.
To undertake drafting of civil, survey & planning related
drawings used in planning and construction of civil projects as
requested within the Melbourne Office while maintaining
budgetary and Quality Assurance considerations. To positively
represent & promote Tomkinson Pty Ltd at all times.
Organisation Relationships
Reports to Engineering Manager & ultimately the Company Manager
Key Performance Indicators
-
Drafting – detailed civil, survey & planning drawings
-
Implement CAD standards
-
Assisting Engineers – prepare drawings, addressing queries
Tasks
-
Reviews project specifications and confers with Civil Engineer
concerning assistance required such as plan preparation,
acceptance testing, evaluation of field conditions, design
changes, and reports;

Draft detailed dimensional drawings such as those needed for
civil plans, sewerage and water reticulation projects, survey &
planning projects;

Calculates dimensions, profile specifications, and quantities of
materials such as earthworks, conduits, pipes, pavement and
asphalt;

Assists engineers to ensure that construction of earthworks,
roads, water and sewerage infrastructure, &
-
Other duties may be assigned by the Engineering Managers or
the Company Manager appropriate to the role of the position.
Minimum Skills & Capabilities
-
Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or advancement towards a
recognised technical qualification
-
Proficiency with CAD software packages
-
Drivers Licence
